Due to the ongoing world health crisis and the continued upwards trend of COVID-19 cases in many US states, Irish Supergroup Celtic Thunder has taken a decision to move its 2020 US and Canadian tour dates to Fall/ Winter 2021. Show producer Sharon Browne cites current US Visa Entry Restrictions for non-US residents, the uncertain timeline for reopening of venues across North America and varying quarantine regulations for movement between States as contributing factors for moving the tour to 2021. Tickets for Celtic Thunder Ireland at the San Jose Civic for Nov. 1, 2020 has been rescheduled to Nov. 2, 2021. All tickets will be honored on the new date.
“Having been in contact with our Promoters and Partners over the past few uncertain months, there is a wide variance from State to State and city to city in terms of cases of Covid-19 and venues being shut down. It has become clear that several states will not be opening theatres this fall. The uncertainty surrounding the timeline for a vaccine has increased our concerns about the health and wellbeing of our fans, our cast and our crew. As a result, we feel we have no alternative but to reschedule our “Celtic Thunder Ireland” tour of the USA and Canada to Fall 2021” states Ms. Browne.
“We, like everyone else the world over, are concerned about the health of our families and community and wish for our fans to remain safe and protected in these troubling times. The prospect of our future tour is something positive that we carry with us now, and we very much look forward to welcoming our fans to a Celtic Thunder show again soon” says Celtic Thunder soloist Ryan Kelly.
Formed in Dublin in 2007, Celtic Thunder is a multi-dimensional musical and theatrical ensemble celebrated around the world for emotionally powerful performances and a state-of-the-art production. Frankie Valli at the San Jose Civic has been rescheduled to December 16, 2021, due to the universal uncertainty surrounding COVID-19. Tickets for the originally scheduled date will be honored for the new dates. Thank you for understanding.
Nederlander Concerts welcomes Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons back to the San Jose Civic.
Frankie Valli, who came to fame in 1962 as the lead singer of the Four Seasons, is hotter than ever in the 21st century. Thanks to the volcanic success of the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys, which chronicles the life and times of Frankie and his legendary group, such classic songs as “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Rag Doll,” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” are all the rage all over again. As the play enters its third sold-out year on Broadway and two touring companies of Jersey Boys travel around the U.S., the real Frankie Valli is packing concert halls coast to coast, from the Rose Theater, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, to L.A.’s Kodak Theater, home of the Academy Awards.
Frankie and the Seasons have influenced many other great recording artists. That was acknowledged in dozens of tributes collected for Jersey Beat, a Four Seasons boxed set. For example, from Barry Gibb: “Frankie Valli to me has become one of the hallmark voices of our generation. From the deepest emotions of his real voice to the power of his falsetto, he created a style that we all still strive to emulate.” From Billy Joel: “I wrote ‘Uptown Girl’ as the flip side to the story of ‘Rag Doll.’ I always loved that record.” And from Brian Wilson: “In the early ’60s the Four Seasons were my favorite group. I thought they were fantastic. The voice blend was fantastic. The competition helped me to get cracking. It inspired me, because they made good music. I went to the piano thinking I could top their music.”
Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons have sold over 175 million records worldwide.
