Vocal soloists, three choirs, and a massive orchestra revel in Carl Orff’s raucous, tuneful cantata, based on a trove of medieval poems and songs celebrating the sensual life and deploring the turns of fate. Orff transforms these into a bawdy and breathtaking musical adventure blazing with energy.
The program begins with a new lyrical double concerto performed by renowned classical violinist Rachel Lee Priday together with its composer, Juan Pablo Jofre, playing the haunting bandoneon.
