Assyrian Aid Society of America is proud to present the 2019 Mesopotamian Night Gala. In the past decade, Mesopotamian Night has brought memories that will forever be engraved in Assyrian history while raising over one million dollars for humanitarian aid to Assyrians. It has brought Assyrian artists to the grand stage and in the process helped those in need. This year they continue their unique journey to celebrate the Assyrian arts.
From the Organizers: “We have planned a memorable event once again starting off with the Mesopotamian Night choral ensemble’s debut of our most patriotic songs accompanied by the Mesopotamian Night symphony orchestra under the direction of John Kendall Bailey. The premier of the Assyrian musical comedy Majnawta (Eloping) — written by Edison Ebrahimi, scored by Rev. Samuel Khangaldy, and featuring a cast of over 25 actors, actresses and singers — will be performed. The second half of the show will, for the first time together on the Mesopotamian Night stage, feature Assyrian pop stars Emanouel Bet Younan and Talal Graish performing some of their most popular songs with a 15-piece band under the direction of Ninef Arsanos.
“We will also be honoring Sami Yako as the recipient of this year’s Mesopotamian Lifetime Achievement Award for the Arts. Our program will be completed with the ever-exciting live auction that will include the works of Fred Parhad, Reni Stephan and Ninos Chammo. Join us! Be a part of something great by Assyrians for everyone.”
