CMT Mainstage takes us from rags to riches with Evita, based on the true story of political leader Eva Peron. The tale is told with a compelling score that includes exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences.
Born in poverty herself, Evita uses her powers of seduction and ruthless ambition to leave her past behind and become the spiritual leader of Argentina. As First Lady, she aligns herself as a hero to the poor and working class until she’s virtually worshipped – and her husband’s popularity as President is assured.
