Mr. Khurrana often uses Punjabi songs, lyrics and instruments in his compositions, be it for songs in his movies or his independent releases. One of his most prominent songs is his rendition of the old Punjabi folk song “Chan Kithha”. Another of his masterpieces is “Paani da Rang”, a song with Panjabi lyrics complemented by melodious guitar. This song also earned Mr. Khurranna a Filmfare award for Best Playback Singing in 2013.
Some of his other memorable songs include “O Heeriya” and “Mittidi Khushboo”, which are sung in Punjabi lyrics with mix of tunes of guitar. These Punjabi lyrics are significant in that they tell stories that have managed to touch the hearts of many.
Most of his songs have hints of Punjabi melodies and are accompanied by western musical instruments. Such mix of music and lyrics has allowed his music to reach a wider audience.
