The first Silicon Valley Ballet program of the New Year is comprised of a trio of works that showcase the great range and versatility of ballet.
Balanchine’s Who Cares?, danced to the songs of George Gershwin, was last seen on this stage in 2011.
Next on the bill is Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Prism. Created for the Washington Ballet, this work uses Keith Jarrett’s Koln Concert as its musical inspiration.
The program closes with Ohad Naharin’s Minus 16, a thrilling exploration of the human experience featuring a delightfully eclectic score ranging from Dean Martin to mambo to traditional Israeli folk music.
This production is part of the first season of Silicon Valley Ballet, formerly known as Ballet San Jose.
