Andrew P. Hill High School, part of the East Side Union High School District, celebrates its Anti-Bullying Club’s 10-year anniversary. For the past decade, the club has presented an annual Anti-Bullying Show designed to raise awareness and to end bullying on campus.
This show, Snap Into Reality: Rebel Hearts Arise! comes to the California Theater in Downtown San Jose for one special night. It depicts bullying behaviors such as religious intolerance, trans/homophobia, stigmatization of special education students, and social exclusion. Several local heroes making a difference in our Seven Trees neighborhood community will also be honored in the first act of the show.
“We hope to start an honest conversation with the San Jose community about the all-too-real and gritty aspects of bullying,” said Josh Greene, Andrew P. Hill’s Anti-Bullying Club and Friday Night Live Adviser and Teacher.
“In our diverse community, it’s imperative that we educate ourselves about bullying concerns among our teens, and how we can prevent and intervene when needed. Bullying is not just pulling pigtails or getting a shove in the lunch line. It’s serious, emotional abuse that can scar for life.”
