Ballet San Jose School families and our community at large will have the chance to celebrate the next generation of classically trained ballet dancers and to witness the high level of artistic achievement reached by its students.
The Afternoon Performance at 2pm will include students from the Primary Division and the Jr. Pre-Professional Division (Levels 1, 2 and Jr. Boys), as well as students from the Senior Pre-Professional Division performing classical and contemporary works, including Mads Eriksen’s “Casting Shadows,” choreographed for the Trainees.
The Evening Performance at 6pm will include students from Level 3 and the Senior Pre-Professional Division (Levels 3A, 3B, 4, 5A, 5B, 6, Sr. Gentlemen and Trainees). Ballet San Jose School staff are excited to have expanded performance opportunities for the students by lengthening this show to a full evening performance with one intermission.
The Evening Performance will feature a thrilling performance of “Konservatoriet,” a less frequently performed classic ballet masterpiece. This work is choreographed in the Danish style by August Bournonville, and will be staged by Mads Eriksen, Ballet San Jose’s resident Bournonville expert, formerly of the Royal Danish Ballet.
